NOMAD MISTAKE #5: THE FINANCIAL MISHAP THAT ALMOST ENDED IT FOR ME

When I started my digital nomad journey back in 2014, I made every mistake in the book but this was my most COSTLY mistake and BIGGEST regret.

Avoiding this one mistake alone would have saved me an entire year of  FINANCIAL UNCERTAINTY AND HORRIBLE ANXIETY.

Learning from this mistake will help you avoid the financial uncertainty so many new digital nomads face while transitioning to a nomadic lifestyle.

Mistake #5: No Takeoff Plan

Not having a plan was a really BAD decision.

I put myself through a year of unnecessary emotional torture and financial uncertainty while almost killing my dream of becoming a digital nomad and ending up back home broke.

A simple takeoff plan for finances, destinations and emergencies would have given me financial security anywhere in the world even when my income dipped and unexpected financial emergencies came up.

Without a takeoff plan I made myself financially vulnerable in foreign countries and perhaps even worse…

I risked losing the digital nomad lifestyle I was working so hard to achieve, failing to create the life I wanted and having to return home.

The last thing you want is to go all in and FAIL because you didn’t have a solid plan for any financial uncertainties that could come up during the transition.

Your takeoff plan is what will let you try this lifestyle out while avoiding the financial insecurity so many new digital nomads face in the early days.

Solution: Having a simple takeoff plan for my finances, destinations and emergencies would have removed the financial uncertainty and given me a way to try the lifestyle before jumping in with both feet.

In my case just a few hours of planning would have saved me an entire year of anxiety, financial uncertainty and painful emotional stress.
