NOMAD MISTAKE #5: THE ONE THAT ALMOST ENDED IT FOR ME

When I started my digital nomad journey back in 2014, I made every mistake in the book but this one was my BIGGEST and most COSTLY mistake.

Avoiding this one mistake alone will help you transition to the digital nomad lifestyle without FINANCIAL UNCERTAINTY or risk of failing.

Learning from this mistake will ensure you don’t end up back home working your 9-5 having to face your friends and family knowing you have failed to make your digital nomad dream a reality.

Mistake #5: No Plan

Not having a plan was a really BAD decision.

I put myself through a year of unnecessary emotional torture, financial uncertainty and almost killed my dream of becoming a digital nomad and ended up back home broke.

A simple takeoff plan for finances, destinations and emergencies will give you peace of mind knowing you’re financially secure anywhere in the world even if your income dips or unexpected emergencies come up.

Without a takeoff plan you expose yourself to financial uncertainty in foreign countries and perhaps even worse…

You risk losing everything you have worked for, failing to create the life you want and having to return home to face your friends and family knowing you have failed.

The last thing you want is to go all in and FAIL.

Your takeoff plan is what will let you try this lifestyle out while avoiding financial uncertainty and the risk of failing miserably as a digital nomad.

Lesson 5: Having a simple plan for my finances, destinations and emergencies would have removed the financial uncertainty, the risk of failure and given me a way to try the lifestyle before jumping in with both feet.

In my case just a few hours of planning would have saved me an entire year of anxiety about financial uncertainty and painful emotional stress.
